Artificial Intelligence can be a real timesaver for business writers. But great business writing requires human judgment, emotional intelligence, and connection with target audiences.

This program teaches business writers how to strategically use AI to craft prompts that deliver useful results, evaluate and refine AI‑generated content, and ensure organizational voice is maintained. Participants will learn to tailor AI‑assisted writing for different audiences, uphold professional business writing standards that AI often overlooks, and proofread for AI-generated hallucinations, bias, and generic language.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to effectively collaborate with AI and ensure their writing remains polished, purposeful, and authentically human.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will earn a DePaul Executive Education certificate, with a verifiable Credly digital badge. This credential can be easily added to LinkedIn and other professional platforms to showcase your learning and achievement.

“I had the great fortune to attend Glynis' writing course at DePaul University. She is an engaging and encouraging instructor, providing top-notch instruction along with interesting examples, and always allowing time for elaboration or further discussion on all of the techniques she covers. I completed the course feeling more confident in my business writing style, armed with new techniques to conquer the hurdles I often faced prior to taking the course. I would highly recommend this course to anyone of any professional background looking to further hone their business writing skills.”

 —Jeremy Apple

"Glynis’ instruction was clear, concise, and relevant with a twist of wit that kept one entertained. From the construction of one sentence through to taking on a long-form piece of writing, Glynis broke it down into doable steps. My business correspondence began to flow with ease where before I had struggled. If you have an opportunity to take a class by Glynis, I would highly recommend it.”

 —Joan Cairney

“I was a little skeptical about taking a business writing class in the beginning. Once the course started, Glynis made me feel included and comfortable. The class discussions were very conversational and insightful. It was a great refresher after college to review business grammar, punctuation, structure, and editing. Since taking the course, I've noticed a vast improvement in my writing and have even received multiple compliments from peers. If you are thinking about improving your writing, I highly recommend taking Glynis’s class.”
